Guangji Bridge: A Historic Landmark in Hunan Province
Located in Daliujia Village, Chetian Town, Yizhang County, Binzhou City, Hunan Province, Guangji Bridge stretches across the Yushui River, connecting the areas of labor and residence. It also serves as a crucial link along the ancient route from Chenzhou to Shaoguan, enabling villagers to explore wider opportunities beyond their community.
The bridge features square fortresses built on its piers, each 9 meters wide, which house shrines dedicated to Buddha and Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy. These fortresses also serve as residences for the bridge's caretakers. With its fortress-style design, broad in the middle and narrowing at the sides, Guangji Bridge stands as a rare architectural marvel.
Recognized for its historical and cultural value, the bridge has been designated as a provincial cultural relic.
