Lianghe Fengyu Covered Bridge
Lianghe Fengyu Covered Bridge - Zhongping Village, Baishi Town, Zhongxian County, built in the 60th year of the Qianlong Emperor's reign during the Qing Dynasty (1795).
This bridge with a stone arch and a wooden house above may seem very ordinary and plain, but it is actually a bridge full of warm stories and human interest.
Originally, this bridge only consisted of a few stone slabs. At the end of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty, it was rebuilt as a stone arch bridge. In 1912, villagers raised funds to build a gallery house on top of the stone bridge to serve as a market place for nearby residents, and since then it has served as the site for market fairs for people in the surrounding villages. Living in harmony with this bridge, the villagers are all kind and unsophisticated. For example, in a small restaurant near the bridge, the hostess cooks a dozen tables of dishes for customers every day. Farming in the mountain and taking care of her grandchildren are also part of her daily routine. Seeing sweat on her face, we are touched by her smile and hospitality.
