Beijing 2022: Joyful Rendezvous upon Ice and Snow

From this day onwards, we will introduce a series of stories about Beijing 2022 Games. Let’s make a date with snow and ice in Beijing!

On 31 July 2015, at the 128th International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session, Beijing, partnering with Zhangjiakou, a city 200 kilometres north-west of Beijing in Hebei Province, was elected to host the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2022. Beijing was the first city in the world to host both Olympic Summer and Winter Games.

The Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 (“Beijing 2022 Games”) will coincide with Chinese Spring Festival, enabling more Chinese people to enjoy the competition during the longest holiday of the year.

Held at the foot of the Great Wall, the Beijing 2022 Games invite friends from all over the world to celebrate this global sporting event. The Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 will open on 4 February and close on 20 February. The Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games will follow a month later, from 4 to 13 March.
