Taiping Bridge
Taiping Bridge is located in Chetian Village, Cheyang Town, Longnan County, Jiangxi Province. Built during the Ming Dynasty, it spans Taiping River in a scenic valley.
This double-arch stone bridge is 50 meters long, 4 meters wide, and 17 meters high, with arch spans of 11.9 meters and 12.9 meters, and an arch height of 6.2 meters. At the center of the bridge is a brick and stone pavilion, 30 meters long, 10 meters high, and spanning 8.4 meters.
The pavilion features three pairs of upturned eaves with cyan-colored tiles, and above its archway, the characters "Taiping Bridge" are inscribed. From afar, the bridge resembles the Chinese character "Pin(品)", symbolizing both stability and beauty, and its design evokes two rainbows. It reflects the traditional Hakka architectural style of southern Jiangxi and is considered a rare example of ancient masonry arch bridges. In 1983, Taiping Bridge was designated a key cultural relic protection site in Longnan County.
