Located within the Wuling mountain range in Guizhou Province in south-west China, Fanjingshan ranges in altitude between 500 meters and 2,570 meters above sea level, favoring highly diverse types of vegetation and landforms relief. Fanjing Mountain National Nature Reserve was established in 1978 under the approval of the government of Guizhou Province. One year later, it was listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO.

The site consists of two parts—the Jian Nan subtropical evergreen forests ecoregion and the Guizhou Plateau broadleaf and mixed forests ecoregion. Fanjingshan has three main peaks, the “Old Golden Summit”, “New Golden Summit” and “Fenghuang Summit” as the highest. If lucky enough, visitors might come across the beautiful sea of cloud and mist when they climb to the top.

Because of the favorable climate and lush vegetation, Fanjingshan is an ideal habitat for wild fauna, with more than 800 wild animal species identified and documented. For example, the Guizhou golden monkey, clouded leopard, South China Tiger, pangolin and antelope. Apart from the wonderful natural heritage, visitors here can also experience the Buddhist culture. So what are you waiting for? Just grab your luggage and let the journey begin!
