Located in the mountainous north-west of Yunnan Province in China, the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas is a serial natural property consisting of 15 protected areas, grouped into eight clusters. It is the place where the headwaters of the Salween (Nu River), the Mekong (Lancang River), and the Yangtze (Jinsha River) flow in parallel for more than 170 kilometers.
Despite these famous rivers, snow mountains in the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas are also one of the must-see sights. The Meili Snow Mountains, on the border of Tibet and Yunnan, are well-known for the time when the sun peeks out from the clouds and pours its light on the peak, painting the top with romantic colors—golden, red and pink.
