Power Station of Art in Shanghai

Viewed from Nanpu Bridge, two landmarks stand among the concrete high-rises: the famous Bund and the towering chimney at the Power Station of Art, a contemporary art museum in Shanghai.
The chimney was once part of the Nanshi Power Plant, which was transformed into an amazing art exhibition venue. Visitors can enter the chimney via a skywalk from the third floor of the museum’s main building.
From atop the chimney, visitors can see a stairway spiral down to the ground. Walking down such a stairway makes people feel like travelling through a time tunnel. As the main venue for the Shanghai Biennale, the Power Station of Art “generates power” for artists with ingenious exhibitions.
