Fantastic China  | 2023-12-01 | Views:6582

Synopsis:

In the spring of 1948, our liberation army launched a strategic counter-offensive throughout the country, and Chongqing under the rule of the reactionaries was in a state of panic, with a depressing atmosphere.

At this time, Sister Jiang, a secret member of the party, set off with important instructions from her superiors. On the way, she was shocked to learn that her husband Peng Songtao had sacrificed his life. Sister Jiang suppressed her grief and, with her head held high, headed for Huaying Mountain, where she, together with a female revolutionary leader, led the guerrillas to start a battle.

Due to the betrayal of the traitor Fu Zhigao, Sister Jiang was unfortunately arrested. Confronted with Shen Yangzhai, the head of secret agents, Sister Jiang righteously rebuked the enemy. On the eve of the liberation of Chongqing, Sister Jiang sacrificed herself in a heroic death.

As the red haze coloured the sky, Sister Jiang stood on the red rock with a smile on her face, like a splendid red plum, towering between heaven and earth. Her great image is forever engraved in the hearts of millions of people. This play tells us: today's happy life is hard-earned, and the bright Five-Starred Red Flag is dyed red with the blood of countless revolutionary martyrs.
