The Hong Kong Film Awards

Established in 1982, the Hong Kong Film Awards is organized by the Hong Kong Film Awards Association and has become a cornerstone of the annual film celebrations in Hong Kong.
The award ceremony is typically held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre from March to April each year. The judging process of the Hong Kong Film Awards is divided into two rounds. In the first round, all the nominees for the awards are selected by the voters of the Hong Kong Film Awards and the first-round professional judging panel. In the second round, the winners are chosen by the second-round professional judging panel, together with the members of the 14 subordinate associations of the Hong Kong Film Awards, the Hong Kong Film Associate Directors Guild, the Hong Kong Film Visual Effects Society, and the Hong Kong Audio-Visual Production Association.
Alongside the Golden Horse Awards and the Golden Rooster Awards, the Hong Kong Film Awards are considered one of the highest achievements in Chinese-language cinema.The Awards have garnered attention from the Chinese-speaking communities worldwide, serving as an indicator of excellence in the film industry.
The Hong Kong Film Awards present a total of 21 award categories, recognizing outstanding achievements in various aspects of filmmaking.
The Awards are voted on by a panel consisting of members from 13 Hong Kong professional film associations, film industry insiders, and professional media workers. The voting process involves two rounds, with the final winners selected through a comprehensive evaluation.
