Amidst the historical buildings at the Bund is the Fosun Foundation, a modern golden structure with facades decorated with “tassels.” Viewed from afar, it looks like an ancient Chinese crown or a Western harp. Every day, when the “tassels” revolve around classical music, the entire building begins to dance, letting passersby know that a show is about to start. Such an impressive art installation was born of the hands of eminent British designer Thomas Heatherwick. The exhibitions housed in the building are similarly impressive, most of which are contemporary interactive installations. Moreover, the art centre also serves as a venue for concerts, small-scale performances and brand promotional activities.
