The most instagramable landmark in Shanghai: Wukang Building

In Shanghai at the junction between Wukang Road and Huaihai Middle Road stands a landmark building resembling a huge ship. It is called Wukang Building. 

Its facades are alternatively paved with classical red and yellow tiles and layered windowsills demonstrate a sense of French-style romance. Many passersby stop to observe the unique building and it appears in many movies. Designed by renowned Hungarian architect Laszlo Hudec Wukang Building formerly known as Normandie Apartments was the first apartment building with exterior corridors in Shanghai. 

The building has eight floors and the arched corridors on the first and second floors are friendly to pedestrians. Above the second floor are residences. On sunny days many households dry clothes on a pole projecting to the street creating a unique flavor of daily life.
