The Laotz Hall, located on Jeju Island, was established by South Korean creative designer Kang Woo-hyon in 2015.

Kang loves to study the culture of Lao-Tzu and Taoism in China. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, he often traveled back and forth between the ancient Chinese philosopher's hometown in China's Henan province and South Korea's Jeju Island. Kang hopes that after the epidemic is over, more people from China and South Korea will come to the Laotz Hall to learn about Taoism.

Lao-Tzu, also known as Laotz, was an ancient Chinese philosopher and writer. He is the author of the Tao Te Ching and is traditionally considered as the founder of Taoism.
