In ancient China, artists made many ceramic figurines of warriors. Today we are gonna provide you with one of this kind.

Both warriors wear helmets that protect their ears and necks. They are clad in shining armor with round breastplates on their chests, belts around their waists and black flowers on their shoulders.

They both wear pants and black boots. The warriors have their right arms down and their hands half curled into empty fists as if grabbing weapons. Their left arms are folded across their chests to rest on rectangular shields with slight ridges on the back and black animal masks painted in the center.

The heads and bodies of the warriors were molded separately and pieced together. The entire piece was first whitewashed before being painted in bright red or black in certain parts.

Having been through many wars, Sui Dynasty was evidently committed to the making of protective equipment such as helmets and armor.
