2023 'Beijing Author Day' unveiled to upgrade transnational literary exchanges

The opening ceremony of 2023 "Beijing Author Day", hosted by the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles and co-organized by China National Publications Import & Export (Group) and Beijing Lao She Literature Academy, was successfully held at the capital's National Convention Center on June 16.

Beijing Author Day is a literature brand activity that has been held for four years. It aims to introduce Beijing literature to the world and to create a platform for Beijing authors to engage in a broader conversation with their overseas counterparts.

The event, which strengthens exchanges and cooperation with overseas sinologists and publishing houses, can help more excellent writers' works go global and eventually put Beijing literature, and even Chinese literature, on the world literary stage.

The opening ceremony of this year's "Beijing Author Day" coincided with the 29th Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) and has attracted the participation of famous writers, translators, sinologists and representatives of multinational publishing houses from home and abroad.
