Goddess Face

Today, our presenting cultural relic is very special. It is a goddess’s face. Let’s learn more about it.

This cultural relic is unearthed in a goddess temple of Niuheliang ruins in northeastern China’s Liaoning province.

This goddess’s face is roughly life-sized and has a rounded rectangle shape with protruding cheekbones.

The eyes are inlaid with two round polished discs of green jade, the mouth is tilted, and it has quite a mysterious character.

We believe there is an uncanny history behind this goddess’s face.
