Characterized by red walls and golden roofs, the ancient architectural complex situated in Beijing and Shenyang functioned as the palaces for the Chinese royalty back in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The palace in Beijing, also known as the Forbidden City, was successively ruled by 14 emperors of the Ming Dynasty and 10 emperors of the Qing Dynasty, and witnessed many important historical events, while the one in Shenyang was the residence for emperors during their eastward inspection. The two palaces were added to the World Heritage List respectively in 1987 and 2004.

Today, these majestic palaces welcome millions of tourists from all over the world. You will definitely be attracted by the grand buildings in perfect symmetry, carved and painted decorations, well-preserved cultural relics, as well as rooms and gardens in similar layout as hundreds of years before.
