Eat stinky tofu at Zhujiajiao Ancient Town
With a history of more than 2,000 years, Zhujiajiao Ancient Town in Shanghai is noted for its abundant bridges, lanes, and street corners.
Compared to other ancient towns in China, Zhujiajiao is less bustling and hasn’t been over-commercialized yet. Strolling along a zigzagging stone plank path, visitors encounter traditional residences with white walls and black-tiled roofs, stone arched bridges, and lush plants.
Even clothes drying in the sun are enchanting views. Local snacks are delectable. Wuzifang, a snack store specializing in stinky tofu, is always packed with tourists. Just fried tofu is buzzing with the scent of oil. It tastes sour, sweet and tender when eaten with specially made sauce. A bite of the local snack makes tourists immediately fall in love with the ancient town.
