Enjoy Shanghai-style Western cuisine at Swan Shenge Western-Style Restaurant
Back in the 1950s, Swan Pavilion, a restaurant offering Shanghai-style Western cuisine, opened on Huaihai Middle Road in Shanghai, which became imprinted in the memories of many locals.
The owner of Swan Shenge Westernstyle Restaurant aimed to preserve and continue his childhood memories of Swan Pavilion. Thick claret curtains, long brocade-covered sofas, exquisite carvings and graceful ornaments are identical to the old restaurant.
Many dishes it offers are created based on the owner and other old gourmets’ memories of the food of the old Swan Pavilion. The most classic are the three iconic dishes: reformed borscht soup that tastes both sour and sweet, deep-fried spare ribs that are thin and crispy, and handmade potato salad. All fully demonstrate the flavor of old-time Shanghai.
