Baotou, in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is renowned for rich natural resources and a booming base of iron and steel production.
Now, it is to explore its potential in the areas of arts, culture and heritage.
The upcoming Baotou Art Fair, scheduled to run from July 12 to July 15, will bring together over 40 cultural institutions from around the country to exhibit artworks and commemorate the rich traditions of cultural heritage.

Among the participants is Rongbaozhai, a cultural brand with a history dating back over 300 years, evolving from a small stationary shop into a revered cultural institution. Rongbaozhai will showcase classic Chinese paintings by modern and contemporary artists, along with demonstrations of notable techniques from intangible cultural heritage, such as woodblock printing.
Creativity products will also be on show. Meanwhile, a digital platform of the fair will also be launched to connect artists
