An ongoing exhibition in Wuhan, Hubei province, is showcasing a remarkable collection of ink artworks from the He family, spanning six generations and over two centuries. Hosted at the Wuhan Masses Art Center, the exhibition features over 100 ink paintings by the esteemed artist He Liangpu, alongside an additional 100 pieces from various members of the He family, including the youngest contributor from the 21st century.

He Liangpu, a multifaceted figure who served as an educator, artist, and poet during the 19th century, notably imparted his knowledge of ink painting at Peking University. His oeuvre predominantly focused on landscapes, capturing the splendid beauty of nature.

The artistic legacy of the He family is further exemplified through the ink paintings and calligraphy works of He Liangpu's daughter, grandson, and great-grandchild, each of whom continued and evolved the family's distinctive artistic style. The exhibition at the art center serves as a testament to the artistic progression within the He family, showcasing the development of their art over the years, culminating in the youngest contributor, an 18-year-old student.

Luo Shiping, the curator of the exhibition, emphasized that the artistic journey of the He family spans approximately two centuries, providing visitors with a rare opportunity to witness the enduring legacy of art passed down through generations within a single family.

The exhibition runs until May 5.
