Silk Road International Film Festival

To implement the strategic visions of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road," the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT) established the "Silk Road International Film Festival" in 2014.
The Silk Road International Film Festival aims to promote cultural exchanges and cooperation among countries along the Silk Road, carry forward the spirit and culture of the Silk Road, and create favorable cultural conditions for the construction of the "Belt and Road".The Silk Road International Film Festival is held annually. The capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, Xi'an, and Fuzhou in southeast China's Fujian Province alternate as hosts of the prominent event.
The Silk Road International Film Festival is a prestigious film event that showcases a diverse range of cinematic works from across the Silk Road region and beyond. The Silk Road, traditionally known as a historic trade route connecting East and West, now serves as a symbol of cultural exchange and collaboration. The festival aims to bring together filmmakers, industry professionals, and film enthusiasts from various backgrounds to celebrate the power of cinema in promoting cultural understanding, empathy, and respect.
The Golden Silk Road Award is the main competition unit award established by the 8th Silk Road International Film Festival. On January 3, 2023, in the name of film, Xi'an, the starting point of the Silk Road, invited filmmakers to gather in the ancient capital to jointly participate in the award ceremony of the 9th Silk Road International Film Festival hosted by China Media Group, the People's Government of Shaanxi Province, and the People's Government of Fujian Province, where the "Golden Silk Road Award" was grandly unveiled.
The 10th Silk Road International Film Festival was held grandly in Fuzhou, Fujian Province from September 23 to 27. The 11th Silk Road International Film Festival will be held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, in September 2024.
