Today we look at another book Confucius worked on, which I'm sure is not new to many of you as a book of divination: The Book of Changes
In ancient times, people believed that hidden deities governed the universe, but as they couldn't control nature or human destiny, they turned to divination for guidance. Divination books emerged early on, and one of the most prominent ones is The Book of Changes, which originated during the Zhou Dynasty and continued to Confucius' time. It consists of two parts: the I-Ching, which provides illustrations of divinatory symbols for fortune-telling, and the I-Zhuan, which serves as an introduction to the I-Ching.
